St. James’ Episcopal Parish seeks a gifted musician to serve as organist and choirmaster for our thriving, inclusive, and loving community just south of Annapolis.
The main responsibility of our Organist and Choirmaster will be to plan, rehearse, and conduct the music for our weekly liturgies and special services, with the assistance of our regular volunteer musicians and instrumentalists hired for special liturgies. The choir rehearses one night a week, with a break over the summer. One of our important musical traditions is our long-running Messiah Sing, which has for over 30 years been drawing singers and music lovers from throughout Southern Maryland. Also important in this position is availability for weekday and weekend funerals.
